Dan Mendelson founded Avalere Health in 2000, grew the firm organically as CEO, engaged ABS Capital as a minority equity partner in 2008, and sold the company to Inovalon Holdings (NASDAQ: INOV) in 2015. Avalere presently has 250 employees and delivers a mix of data products and advisory services to an outstanding healthcare customer base that spans life sciences, plans, and providers. He continues to lead Avalere and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Inovalon. Prior, Dan served as Associate Director of Health at the White House Office of Management and Budget, where he was responsible for Medicare, Medicaid, discretionary budgetary policy, and the implementation of the Balanced Budget Act healthcare provisions during the Clinton Administration. He is presently on the Board of Champions Oncology (NASDAQ: CSBR) and Executive in Residence at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He previously served on the boards of Coventry Health Care (sold to Aetna in 2013), PharMerica Corporation (NYSE: PMC) and HMS holdings (NASDAQ: HMSY).
